Fortis Trading was co-founded by John Booth and Peter Rolvink. Both partners are forest industry experts with extensive experience in global trade and finance. Accomplished careers at different multi-national forestry and publishing companies nurtured their shared entrepreneurial vision: to create an independent supply chain management company that connects suppliers and buyers while carefully balancing technical requirements, delivery availability, and financial resources in the best interest of their clients.

 

John Booth – Managing Partner

John has over 20 years of experience in global marketing and business development working in both, North America and Europe.

He brings an international perspective and in-depth expertise to all key aspects of successful supply chain management. John excels at business process management and optimization and believes that by tracking and monitoring, you can get a better handle on anything in business.

Before co-founding Fortis Trading in 2009 and its predecessor, Xcellulose Resources in 2003, John’s roles included International Sales Director with West Fraser Timber and International Marketing Director and European Production Manager for Italian publishing giant DeAgostini.

John is also very active in the community with current roles as Coach, Vice President, and Board Member of one of North America’s largest youth soccer clubs.

John has a BA Honours from University of Toronto and a Masters from Cambridge University in England.

 

 Peter Rolvink – Managing Partner

Peter has over 25 years of experience in global marketing and business development that extends across different industries.

He has an unparalleled ability to understand the challenges both, suppliers and buyers face in today’s market environment. Relying on his extensive experience, he relishes the opportunity to help clients develop strategies to overcome obstacles in their supply chain and turn them into competitive advantages.

Before co-founding Fortis Trading in 2009 and its predecessor, Xcellulose Resources in 2003,  Peter also served as President and Board Member for C-Free Power Corp., a renewable energy developer based in Calgary, which was sold to Good Energies, a large European renewables consolidator, in 2009. Additionally, his previous roles included General Manager Paper Sales for Canfor Corporation as well as past Chairman of the Canadian Paper Packaging Association.

Peter is very active in the community and is co-Founder and Vice-President of The Forest Legacy Foundation and President of the BCO Volleyball Club.

Peter has a BSc in Mathematics and Physics from The University of British Columbia.
